Com sabem si un punt és d'una recta  ax+by+c=0 ? 

Exemple:

Donada la recta r colon space space 3 x minus 2 y plus 1 equals 0

El punt (5,1) és de la recta r?     

            substituïm els valors x=5, y=1  en l'equació de la recta:

                                          3·5-2·1+1= 0 ?

                                            15-2+1=0 ?   NO  rightwards double arrow    El punt (5,1) no és de la recta r

El punt (3,5) és de la recta r?     

            substituïm els valors x=3, y=5  en l'equació de la recta:

                                          3·3-2·5+1= 0 ?

                                              9-10+1=0 ?   SI  rightwards double arrow   El punt (3,5) sí és de la recta r       

Questió 2

        Sí tenen la mateixa direcció. Per tant, com a vector director de la recta que passa per A i B podem agafar tant el vector begin mathsize 14px style stack A B with rightwards arrow on top end style com el begin mathsize 14px style stack B A with rightwards arrow on top end style  (ja que tenen la mateixa direcció)

   Recordem que el v.d. de la recta begin mathsize 14px style a x plus b y plus c equals 0 end style  és  begin mathsize 14px style left parenthesis negative b comma a right parenthesis end style

   Per tant, 

   el v.d de begin mathsize 14px style 2 x plus 3 y minus 1 equals 0 end style  és  begin mathsize 14px style v with rightwards arrow on top left parenthesis negative 3 comma 2 right parenthesis end style

    o bé aïllem y:

   Observació: 

   Com a vector director de la recta també podem agafar el vector: 

    w with rightwards arrow on top left parenthesis 6 comma 4 right parenthesis   ja que té la mateixa direcció que el begin mathsize 14px style left parenthesis negative 6 comma negative 4 right parenthesis end style, encara que sentit oposat

    o el u with rightwards arrow on top left parenthesis 3 comma 2 right parenthesis  que té la mateixa direcció i sentit que el w with rightwards arrow on top left parenthesis 6 comma 4 right parenthesis, però el mòdul (la longitud) és la meitat.
