ESO3 English follows the New English in Use coursebook (Burlington Books) offering students an integrated approach to real-life communication. The course presents a complete vocabulary and grammar syllabus stressing the importance of real language production and working on all skills so that students can express themselves competently.  The course helps develop key competences such as digital, cultural, learning to learn, initiative and entrepreneurship. It integrates cross-cultural and cultural content. Compatible with A1+/B1 of the Common European Framework.

Unit 1. What a Journey?

Objectives: learn vocabulary about journeys and feelings/practise using the Past Simple, used to, Past Continuous and quotation marks/read a blog entry and text related to history/listen to and understand a conversation about a journey and about travelling/talk about explorers, describe past events on a trip/write a narrative/practise everyday use of English: booking a flight and arranging hotel accomodation

Unit 2. Achievements

Objectives: learn vocabulary about achievements and activities/practise using the Present Simple, Past Simple and adjectives and adverbs of manner and degree/read a web page and a text related to culture/listen to and understand a class presentation and a job interview/talk about famous people, past experiences and interests/write a news article/practise everday use of English: talking about yourself and completing a questionnaire.
